Maurice Bonnetain is a Beaujolais wine producer based in Saint-Lager, a village in the Beaujolais region of Burgundy. The estate produces Côte de Brouilly wines from the Gamay grape variety, the iconic black grape with white juice that defines Beaujolais wines. The Côte de Brouilly is one of the 10 Beaujolais crus, known for producing wines with more structure and depth compared to basic Beaujolais. The vineyards are situated on the slopes of Mont Brouilly, with granite and schist soils that give the wines their distinctive character. Bonnetain's Côte de Brouilly presents an intense garnet color with powerful fruity and floral aromas that lead to a balanced, fleshy, and savory mouthfeel that is long and fresh. The estate has 2 wines selected in the Guide Hachette des Vins for the Beaujolais and Lyonnais region. Saint-Lager is located in the southern part of the Beaujolais crus area, benefiting from the region's unique terroir.
