Earl robert et bernard Plageoles
About the Winery
Robert and Bernard Plageoles are legendary figures in the Gaillac appellation of South West France. The Plageoles family has been instrumental in preserving and reviving the region's indigenous grape varieties. Robert Plageoles, often considered the 'guardian' of Gaillac's viticultural heritage, has championed nearly extinct local varieties including Mauzac, Ondenc, Prunelard, and Verdanel. Their estate produces a remarkable range of wines including the slightly fizzy Gaillac Perlé (made from Mauzac), dry whites, robust reds, and sweet wines from dried grapes. The family's dedication to the region's unique varieties and traditional winemaking methods has made them icons of the South West wine scene.
“Legendary Gaillac producers who have preserved nearly extinct indigenous grape varieties and traditional winemaking methods.”
