About the Winery

Jean-Paul Aubineau is a producer in the Charentes region of western France, based in Mosnac-Saint-Simeux. His estate produces Cognac AOC and Pineau des Charentes AOC. Pineau des Charentes is a fortified wine (vin de liqueur) made by adding Cognac eau-de-vie to fresh, unfermented grape must—a tradition dating back to the 16th century. The white Pineau des Charentes from Aubineau is a fine expression of the region's tradition, crafted from grape varieties such as Ugni Blanc, Colombard, and Sauvignon. The Charentes region's mild winters and moderately warm summers allow for slow, gradual grape ripening, contributing richness and complexity to the wines.
