About the Winery
Alain Pillet is a producer in the Charentes region of western France, based in Rouffignac. His estate produces Cognac AOC, Pineau des Charentes AOC, and Vin de Pays Charentais IGP. The Charentes region, while internationally famous for Cognac, also produces the lesser-known but delightful Pineau des Charentes—a fortified wine created by adding Cognac eau-de-vie to fresh, unfermented grape must. The region's wines are crafted from grape varieties including Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Montils, Folle Blanche, and Sémillon. Pillet represents the tradition of small-scale, family-run production in this historic spirits and wine region.
“A Charentes producer crafting Cognac, Pineau des Charentes, and regional wines in western France.”
