About the Winery
Gilles Lhoste is a wine producer and distiller based in Averon-Bergelle in the Gers department of South West France. The Gers is the heart of Gascony, a region famous for Armagnac (France's oldest brandy), foie gras, and duck confit. Lhoste produces wines from the region's indigenous grape varieties and may also be involved in the production of Armagnac, the quintessential spirit of Gascony made from Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Folle Blanche, and Baco grapes. The South West's diverse terroir produces wines ranging from those similar in style to Bordeaux to unique expressions from indigenous varieties.
“A Gascon wine producer and distiller in the heart of Armagnac country.”
