About the Winery

Domaine Jean-François Ganevat, affectionately known as 'Fanfan,' is one of the most sought-after and celebrated producers in the Jura region, representing the 14th generation of winemakers in his family since around 1650. Jean-François and his sister Anne took over the family estate in 1998 after he spent nearly a decade as cellar master at Domaine Jean-Marc Morey in Chassagne-Montrachet, Burgundy. The estate spans approximately 13 hectares on clay-limestone and blue marl soils in Rotalier, in the southern Jura. Ganevat is renowned for producing over 50 cuvées annually from biodynamically farmed vineyards (certified organic and Demeter), working with indigenous varieties including Chardonnay, Savagnin, Pinot Noir, Poulsard, and Trousseau. The wines are crafted with minimal intervention—no filtration, no fining, and virtually no added sulfites. The domaine is particularly famous for its single-parcel selections that showcase the extraordinary diversity of Jura terroirs, with some vines dating back to 1902 and 1912. After devastating frost in 2017 destroyed 95% of their crop, the siblings began a négociant project to supplement their estate production.

Jura's most iconic cult producer—14th generation, biodynamic, crafting over 50 cuvées of extraordinary purity and terroir expression.
