Château des Alouettes
About the Winery
Château des Alouettes is a family estate in Beaujolais that has been cultivating vineyards since 1800. Jean Tête, a former cooper and cellarman, bought his first vines after returning from the war, selling his wine by bicycle to nearby towns. His son Louis took over to develop sales throughout France, and in 1974 Jean Tête joined his father to conquer the export market. The estate has developed across Beaujolais Villages and the crus. Today, Jean and Justine cultivate the vines traditionally with the utmost respect for nature, vinifying wines to extract the most faithful expression of what the terroir brings. The estate produces Beaujolais Villages (partially in organic conversion), Brouilly, Moulin-à-Vent, and Crémant de Bourgogne.
“A family estate since 1800, producing Beaujolais Villages, Brouilly, and Moulin-à-Vent with deep respect for tradition and nature.”
