About the Winery

SICAREX Beaujolais is the technical support service for Beaujolais winemakers, and operates Château de l'Éclair, an open-air laboratory for the Beaujolais region. The estate covers 20 hectares and is at the forefront of research in viticulture. Since 2003, SICAREX has been conducting a vast survey aimed at collecting and protecting the widest range of the Gamay variety worldwide. The Conservatoire National du Gamay includes over 1,000 accessions to date. The estate produces wines and grape juice, continuing the legacy of Victor Vermorel, a pioneer in Beaujolais viticultural research.
