Domaine Joseph Lafarge

Le Grand Bois, 630 Chemin Du Grand Bois, 71260 Lugny, France

About the Winery

Domaine Joseph Lafarge is a family estate in the heart of the Mâconnais in Burgundy, where the family has cultivated vines with passion for nearly three centuries and ten generations. Anthony Lafarge is the current winemaker, continuing the family tradition. The domaine spans 13 hectares planted on Lugny and Saint-Gengoux-de-Scissé, primarily with Chardonnay (the king grape of Burgundy), as well as Pinot Noir and Gamay. The estate left the cooperative in 2017 to produce their own wines, including Mâcon, Mâcon-Lugny, Mâcon Villages, Bourgogne, and Crémant de Bourgogne. The property uses a VitiBot robot for weed control and no herbicides. The estate is also known for its unique wine tourism accommodations including oeno-tonneaux (barrel-shaped rooms).

A ten-generation family estate in the Mâconnais since 1727, producing Burgundy wines from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Gamay with innovative sustainable practices.
