About the Winery

Dominique Ay is the proprietor of Domaine Raspail-Ay, a sixth-generation family estate in Gigondas in the southern Rhône Valley. Founded in 1854 by Eugène Raspail, the domaine covers 19 contiguous hectares on clay-limestone mid-slope terraces. The estate produces a single benchmark Gigondas red wine (70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre) aged 18-24 months in large oak foudres, along with a small amount of Gigondas Rose. Dominique retired in 2020, handing management to his children Christophe and Anne-Sophie Ay, who represent the sixth generation. The domaine is consistently ranked among the top producers in Gigondas, known for its traditional approach and focus on a single appellation.
