About the Winery

Domaine de Montmain is a family-run estate of nearly 10 hectares located in Villars-Fontaine in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, Burgundy. Founded in 1971 by Bernard Hudelot, the domaine is now managed by Mathieu Piecourt. The estate produces a range of appellations including Bourgogne Rouge, Bourgogne Aligoté, and Hautes-Côtes de Nuits in both red and white. The wines are known for their balance between ripe fruit and velvety tannins. Domaine de Montmain follows an organic approach since 2018 with the aim of obtaining organic certification. They are one of the rare wineries still producing long-ageing wines in the purest Burgundy tradition, with rigorous wine-making and long ageing in French oak barrels. The cellar is open all year round for tastings and purchases.
