Luc Baudet

About the Winery

Château Mas Neuf has been the property of Luc Baudet since 2000. Located at the gateway to the Camargue near Nîmes and Aigues-Mortes, the estate spans 62 hectares of vines. Luc Baudet, an agricultural engineer specializing in Food Science, purchased the estate after an extensive search across southern France vineyards. The property has a rich history dating back to Roman times - Roman coins from the VOLC period have been found in the vineyards. In the 18th century, the estate served as a resting place for pilgrims on the route to Santiago de Compostella, which inspired the name of the Compostella wine line. The vineyards are situated on mid-slope of the Costières de Nîmes' southern aspect, benefiting from Mediterranean sunshine and thermal winds. The soils are brown fersiallitic with rolled pebbles. After selling Château Mas Neuf, Luc Baudet kept 7 hectares to create 'Le Clos des Centenaires.' The estate produces Costières de Nîmes red, white, and Rose wines, including cuvées like Compostelle, Rhône Paradox, and La Mourvache.

62-hectare estate in Costières de Nîmes since 2000, with Roman-era vineyard history.
