About the Winery

The Matray brothers - Bruno, Denis, and Patrick - operate Château du Bourg, a lovely wine estate in Fleurie, Beaujolais. The property, built in the 18th and 19th centuries, is set at the foot of a slope of vines. Denis Matray welcomes visitors in a 1900s-style bistro to taste the estate's wines. The brothers produce wines from Beaujolais, Beaujolais-Villages, Fleurie, and Moulin-à-Vent appellations, crafted from Gamay grapes grown on the pink granite soils typical of Fleurie. Vineyard walks and commented tastings are available by appointment.
