Hubert Blumstein
About the Winery
Domaine Edelweiss (Hubert Blumstein) is a family wine estate located on the Alsace Wine Route, between Châtenois and Scherwiller at the foot of the Ortenbourg castle. The estate has been in the Blumstein family for three generations. The name 'Domaine Edelweiss' reflects the family's passion for nature and echoes 'Blumstein' which literally means 'flower of stone.' Since 1998, sisters Nadine and Sylvie Blumstein have been the winemakers, having grown up among the vines. The estate has been certified 100% organic since 2011 after a three-year conversion process. They produce a range of Alsace wines including Sylvaner, Pinot Blanc, Muscat, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Noir, and Crémant d'Alsace, with cuvées named after family members (Olivier, Evan, Léane).
“Three generations of organic Alsace winemaking on the Route des Vins d'Alsace, certified organic since 2011.”
