About the Winery

Hegarty Chamans is a family-owned vineyard co-owned by Sir John Hegarty, the legendary advertising creative behind BBH (Bartle Bogle Hegarty), and his wife Philippa Crane. Located in the south-facing foothills of the Montagne Noire in the Minervois region of the Languedoc, the 15-hectare estate was purchased in 2002. The vineyards are surrounded by garrigue and woodland, isolated from other vineyards, allowing the estate to pursue non-interventionist farming based on organic and biodynamic principles, with EcoCert certification since 2007. Their symbol, the black sheep, reflects their philosophy of making exciting wines by not following the crowd. All wines are vinified varietal by varietal in oak barrels, foudres, concrete tanks, and a concrete egg, with minimal sulphur and vegan-friendly production.
