Jean-Pierre Commarmont is a wine producer in the Beaujolais region of eastern France. Beaujolais is known for producing light, fruity red wines from the Gamay grape variety, grown on granite and schist soils. The region stretches 55 kilometers from Mâcon in the north to Lyon in the south, encompassing ten crus, each with its own distinct terroir character. Beaujolais wines are typically made using semi-carbonic maceration, which extracts bright fruit flavors while keeping tannins soft.
