Craveia-Goyaud
About the Winery
Craveia-Goyaud is the family behind Château Roumieu, a historic property in Barsac, in the Sauternes region of Bordeaux. Château Roumieu is renowned for producing exceptional sweet white wines from Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle grapes affected by noble rot (Botrytis cinerea). Barsac is one of the five communes permitted to use the Sauternes appellation, known for its unique microclimate where morning fogs followed by warm sunny afternoons create ideal conditions for botrytis. The estate produces wines with complex aromas of apricot, honey, dried fruits, and spices, with perfect balance between sweetness and acidity. Catherine Craveia-Goyaud continues the family's dedication to quality and tradition in producing these world-renowned dessert wines.
