Éric Michel
About the Winery
Éric Michel is the winemaker at Domaine Cros de la Mûre, a 17-hectare estate in the southern Côtes du Rhône in the north of Vaucluse. The domaine has a unique dual territorial implantation at Derboux and Uchaux, with two main appellations: Côtes du Rhône and Massif d'Uchaux. The family's interest in viticulture began in the 1920s when the great-grandfather planted the first vine. Éric studied oenology in Bordeaux and created the Cros de la Mûre cellar in 1989 with his sister Myriam. The estate is certified organic by Ecocert, using hand weeding with no chemical products. The domaine also produces Gigondas and Châteauneuf-du-Pape from small holdings, vinifying each parcel separately in concrete tanks. Éric Michel is described as one of the Rhône Valley's most talented winemakers, producing wines of exceptional concentration and balance.
“A talented Rhône winemaker crafting organic wines across Côtes du Rhône, Massif d'Uchaux, Gigondas, and Châteauneuf-du-Pape.”
