Patrick and Elisabeth Grandmaison operate Domaine Grandmaison in Aiglepierre in the Jura region. The estate produces wines under the Côtes du Jura appellation, specializing in Savagnin, the Jura's iconic white grape variety. The Jura is one of France's smallest wine regions but is celebrated for its unique wine styles including Vin Jaune (aged under a veil of yeast), Vin de Paille (straw wine), and sparkling Crémant du Jura. The region's marl and limestone soils, combined with its continental climate, create distinctive conditions for producing wines with remarkable character and aging potential.
