About the Winery

Romain Chamiot is a young winemaker in the Savoie region who took over his grandfather Jérôme Tardy's vineyards and converted them to organic viticulture. He farms 5-7 hectares scattered across 30 parcels in the Savoie and Apremont appellations. The majority of his vines are planted to Jacquère, the local white Alpine varietal that produces mineral, fresh, and easy-drinking wines. Many of his vines are 40 to 50 years old, with some parcels exceeding 80 years. The Apremont appellation takes its name from the vineyards' position 'after Mount Granier' (à-pied-mont). Romain's 2021 Apremont is described as fresh with bright citrus notes and white flowers, a true 'vin de plaisir' perfect for apéritif.
