About the Winery

Maison Willm, founded in 1896 in Barr, Alsace, is one of the region's most historic wine estates. Located at the foot of the majestic Kirchberg de Barr Grand Cru vineyard, the Willm family has been making wine since 1590, with the estate's French heritage dating back to 1398. Emile Willm was the first Alsace producer to export wines to the United States after Prohibition was repealed in the early 1930s. The estate owns the famous Clos Gaensbrœnnel and produces wines across four Grand Cru sites. Their portfolio includes still wines, sparkling Crémant d'Alsace, and late-harvest sweet wines. The domaine received organic certification in 2012 and is known for producing wines that blend freshness, minerality, and elegance.
