About the Winery
Nicolas Couture is a wine producer in the Monbazillac area of South West France. Monbazillac is renowned for its sweet white wines made from Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle grapes affected by noble rot (Botrytis cinerea). The region is situated on the left bank of the Dordogne River, opposite the famous Sauternes appellation of Bordeaux. The area benefits from morning mists that encourage the development of noble rot, producing wines with rich honeyed character and excellent aging potential. Nicolas Couture produces wines that showcase the unique sweet wine traditions of this historic region.
“A producer in Monbazillac, crafting sweet white wines from botrytized grapes in the Bergerac region.”
