Domaine Piron-Lameloise
About the Winery
Domaine Piron-Lameloise is associated with Dominique Piron, the 14th known generation of a family of winegrowers in Morgon since 1590. Born in 1950 in Morgon, Dominique Piron obtained a degree in oenology from Dijon University in 1969 and gradually took over the family business. In 1988, he was the first in Beaujolais to initiate grape purchasing, managing around 100 hectares of vinification in the 2000s. In 2020, he created the new 'Domaine du Vieux Bourg' winery in Corcelles-en-Beaujolais, still specializing in the Morgon appellation, housed in the old village church. The domaine specializes in Morgon wines from the Côte du Py, one of the most prestigious crus of Beaujolais, with vines planted on blue schist and decomposed volcanic rock soils rich in iron oxide and manganese.
“A historic Beaujolais domaine with 14 generations of winemaking heritage, specializing in Morgon cru wines.”
