Hervé Bessac

About the Winery

Hervé Bessac is a third-generation winemaker in Violès, in the Southern Rhône Valley. He worked with his parents Geneviève and René Bessac from 2000 until 2007 when he took over the domaine. In 2012, his brother Sébastien joined him. Their domain covers 34 hectares across three communes: Violès, Jonquières, and Rasteau, including 3.5 hectares of Rasteau, 7 hectares of Côtes du Rhône Village Plan de Dieu, 13.5 hectares of Côtes du Rhône, and 10 hectares of IGP. The vines average 50 years old. The estate produces a range of wines including Rasteau (70% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 15% Mourvèdre), Côtes du Rhône Villages Plan de Dieu, and Côtes du Rhône. Direct sales are available by appointment.
