About the Winery

Patrick Coulbois is a respected winemaker in Saint-Andelain, in the Pouilly-Fumé appellation of the Loire Valley. His family has cultivated vines in the region since at least the 17th century. In 1974, Patrick established his own domaine, using grapes from parcels along the southwestern slopes of Saint-Andelain. Today, the estate covers 8.7 hectares of vineyards, farmed using lutte raisonnée (reasoned struggle) methods. He aerates the soil, uses natural composts, and avoids insecticides. The estate produces several cuvées including 'Les Cocques' from vines planted in 1955, 'Les Cornets' from limestone plantings, and 'La Charnoie' from Kimmeridge clay soils with vines planted after World War II. All vinification is carried out parcel by parcel to highlight the special features of each vineyard plot. The wines are known for their vivid flavors, vibrancy, and classic Loire Sauvignon Blanc character with mineral intensity.
