Domaine de la Berthète
About the Winery
Domaine de la Berthète is a family-owned estate in the southern Rhône Valley, close to fifty hectares of vineyards cultivated according to eco-friendly principles on classic clay-limestone ('argilo-calcaire') terroir. Pascal Maillet and his wife Marie-Pierre purchased the estate, which dates back to 1950, in 1993. After studying Computer Science, Pascal decided to change his life to venture into wine production. He has since increased his vineyards tremendously and invested in new technology to become one of the top handcrafted producers in Côtes-du-Rhône. The estate produces wines in the appellations of Côtes-du-Rhône, Côtes-du-Rhône Villages, Vin de Pays, and Châteauneuf-du-Pape from traditional southern Rhône varieties averaging 35 years of age.
“A family estate of nearly 50 hectares in the southern Rhône, producing eco-friendly wines from Grenache, Syrah, and Carignan.”
