Château Corton C.

Rue d'Aloxe Corton, 21420 Aloxe-Corton, Burgundy, France

About the Winery

Château Corton C. is a jewel of Burgundian architecture, built at the end of the 19th century on the site of an old 18th century château, at the foot of the famous Corton hill, on cellars dating from the 15th century. With its iconic glazed tiles similar to those of the Hospices de Beaune, the château is listed as a historic monument and is part of Burgundy's heritage. Since 2015, Caroline Frey, owner, winemaker and winegrower, has been committed to perpetuating Burgundian know-how while bringing her vision of viticulture to the estate. The 7-hectare estate produces 13 appellations including 3 Grands Crus (including one monopole), 4 Premiers Crus, and 5 Village appellations. Caroline deliberately chooses to keep limited wine production to preserve quality while introducing soft viticulture across the whole vineyard. The estate features a contemporary winery with custom-made concrete vats, and a 15th-century vaulted cellar where old vintages dating back to 1928 are carefully preserved.
