Domaine Einhart
About the Winery
Domaine Einhart is a family estate rooted in Rosenwiller since the 1820s, at the foot of the Vosges mountains in northern Alsace. Now run by father-and-son team Nicolas and Théo Einhart, the 10-hectare estate has been fully organic since 2008 (certified Ecocert and AB from 2011), with over 3 hectares converted to biodynamics. The clay-limestone soils bear three types of limestone that deeply imprint the wines: shell, oolitic, and dolomitic. Nicolas was one of the founding members of the TIFLO association in 1997, committed to maintaining ecological refuge zones and refusing harmful phytosanitary products. In 2020, Théo returned to the estate and began producing natural wines with short macerations, gravity transfers, and minimal intervention. The estate produces white wines from Auxerrois, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, and Muscat, as well as Pinot Noir reds.
“A 7-generation family estate in Rosenwiller since the 1820s, organic since 2008, now producing natural wines with minimal intervention.”
