About the Winery

Domaine Jacques Selosse, founded in 1949 by Jacques Selosse in the Grand Cru village of Avize, is one of the most iconic and influential Champagne estates in the world. Anselme Selosse took over from his father in 1974 after working at prestigious Burgundy estates including Coche-Dury and Domaine Leflaive, bringing Burgundian techniques to Champagne production. The estate farms approximately 8 hectares across Grand Cru villages including Avize, Cramant, Oger, and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger (Chardonnay), plus Aÿ, Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, and Ambonnay (Pinot Noir). Anselme adopted biodynamic viticulture from 1990-1996, then developed his own unique approach inspired by permaculture. The estate produces approximately 57,000 bottles annually, with cuvées including Initial (brut), Version Originale (extra-brut), Substance (solera-based), and six single-vineyard 'Lieux-Dits' wines. Since 2018, Guillaume Selosse has taken over from his father.

One of the world's most iconic Champagne estates, in Avize since 1949, pioneering terroir-focused Champagne with biodynamic viticulture.
