About the Winery

Château de Mérande, also known as Domaine Genoux, is a historic estate in Arbin, Savoie, whose history dates back to 1248. The estate is managed today by André and Daniel Genoux, the fifth generation of the family. The Genoux family was already cultivating vines in Les Abymes in the 13th century and moved to Arbin in the 20th century. The 12-hectare estate is mainly planted with Mondeuse (7 hectares), the emblematic grape variety of Savoie, along with Roussanne (Bergeron) and Altesse. The estate has been certified organic since 2000 and biodynamic since 2009. Vineyard work includes plowing with horses and hand harvesting. The wines are made naturally with indigenous yeasts, low sulfur, and no chemical additions. The estate produces Vin de Savoie, Roussette de Savoie, and the famous Mondeuse d'Arbin wines.

A historic Savoie estate dating to 1248, managed by the 5th generation Genoux family, certified organic and biodynamic.
