About the Winery

Domaine Clape is a flagship estate of the Cornas appellation in the northern Rhône Valley, with more than 250 years of history. The domaine was originally transmitted through the female line (the Frugier and then Rousset families) before taking the name Clape. Commercialization in bottles dates back to 1955. After Pierre Clape, who took over in 1997 following his father Auguste (who passed away in 2018), it is now Olivier who continues the family tradition with talent. A discreet and non-interventionist winemaker, Olivier practices long aging in ancient foudres for a complete expression of Syrah. Over a 9-hectare vineyard, he dedicates 3.5 hectares to his 'grand vin' Cornas, producing wines of exceptional depth and longevity that are considered benchmarks for the appellation.

A flagship Cornas estate with over 250 years of history, producing benchmark Syrah wines.
