About the Winery

Maison Barbeau et Fils is a wine and spirits producer in the Charentes region of southwestern France. The Charentes is famous worldwide as the birthplace of Cognac, the prestigious French brandy. The region's six crus (growing areas), including Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, and Borderies, each produce eaux-de-vie with distinct characteristics. Family-run Maisons like Barbeau often have long traditions of cultivating Ugni Blanc grapes and distilling them into fine Cognacs, which are then aged in French oak barrels. Many also produce Pineau des Charentes, a regional fortified wine.
