About the Winery
Cave Coopérative Les Costières is a cooperative cellar in Montbazin, in the Costières de Nîmes appellation of the southern Rhône Valley. Cooperative cellars are a vital part of the French wine industry, particularly in the Languedoc-Rhône region, where they allow small growers to pool resources for vinification, aging, and marketing. The Costières de Nîmes appellation is located on a series of terraces of rolled pebbles (galets roulés) deposited by the Rhône and Durance rivers, similar to the terroir of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The cooperative produces wines in all three colors from Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and other southern varieties.
“A cooperative cellar in the Costières de Nîmes appellation, bringing together local growers to produce wines from classic Rhône varieties.”
