About the Winery

Domaine Paul Janin et Fils is a family estate in Romanèche-Thorins, in the Beaujolais region, specializing in the Moulin-à-Vent cru. The domaine's history began in 1937 when the grandfather purchased parcels on the climats of Le Tremblay. The family has been crafting wines from Moulin-à-Vent, considered the most prestigious of the Beaujolais crus, for four generations. Today, Eric Janin runs the 8.5-hectare estate with biodynamic and organic practices. In 2018, the family created Maison Paul Janin & Fils as a négociant activity. The estate was awarded two stars by La Revue du Vin de France and Eric Janin was named Vigneron de l'Année for Beaujolais in 2024. The domaine's old vines, some over 100 years old, produce concentrated, age-worthy Gamay wines.
