About the Winery

Domaine Barbe-Caillette is a wine estate producing wines in the Costières de Nîmes appellation in the southern Rhône Valley. Costières de Nîmes, formerly known as Costières du Gard, was promoted to AOC status in 1986. The appellation is located on the right bank of the Rhône and the left bank of the Gardon, on terraces of rolled pebbles (galets roulés) similar to those found in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. This terroir produces wines with a distinct Mediterranean character - full-bodied reds from Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, and fresh whites from Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, and Marsanne. The domaine's 'Haut Jovis' cuvée has been recognized in wine guides.
