About the Winery
Château de Pitray is a magnificent Bordeaux estate with a history dating back to the 14th century. The château features impressive crenellations and machicolations, rebuilt in the Gothic-Renaissance style during the Second Empire. The estate sits on 200 acres, of which 70 are planted with vineyards, the remainder being woods and open fields. Located on the western end of the Dordogne Valley near Saint-Émilion, the estate has remained in the same family since its creation. The vineyard covers 33 hectares on a single hillside. In 2013, the vineyard was entrusted to SC de la Frérie. The property offers a unique wine tourism experience with accommodation at the château, meals prepared by the family cook, and tours of the winery.
