Ballot Millot et Fils

9, rue de la Goutte-d'Or, 21190 Meursault, France

About the Winery

Domaine Ballot-Millot & Fils is an historic Burgundy estate in Meursault, now led by 17th-generation winemaker Charles Ballot, who crafts exceptional terroir-driven Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from prized Premier Cru vineyards across Meursault, Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet, Pommard, and Volnay. Since taking over in 2000, Charles has elevated these family-held vineyards through organic practices, lunar-cycle winemaking, and minimalist oak use. The estate is spread over 10 hectares of vineyards with 2 hectares planted to red and 8 to white, the majority in Meursault with contributions from Beaune, Chassagne, Pommard and Volnay. Charles is the 15th generation of a family line tied to Meursault since the French Revolution. The domaine's crown jewels include old-vine parcels in Meursault's Premier Crus like Genevrières (70-year-old vines), Perrières (40+ years), and Narvaux (45-60 years). The wines are fermented with indigenous yeasts, aged 12 months in barrel with only 10-20% new oak, then racked to tank for an additional six months.
