Thierry Landry is a wine producer in Chinon, one of the Loire Valley's most celebrated red wine appellations. Chinon is renowned for producing elegant Cabernet Franc wines on the gravelly terraces and limestone slopes along the Vienne River. The wines of Chinon are known for their aromatic complexity, displaying notes of red berries, violets, and pencil lead, with a distinctive freshness and minerality from the region's tuffeau limestone soils. Chinon also produces a small amount of white wine from Chenin Blanc. The appellation has a long and distinguished history, with connections to French literary figures such as François Rabelais, who celebrated the wines of his native Chinon in his writings.
