About the Winery

Domaine Picotin, also known as GAEC Mercier Père et Fils, is a family-owned winery in Lucenay, in the southern Beaujolais region. The domain traces its origins back to 1864, when Marie Picotin first cultivated vines on the hillsides overlooking the Saône plain. Today, Marc and Christine Mercier manage the estate, representing the sixth generation of winemakers in the family. The domain covers approximately 36 hectares of vines, producing Beaujolais Rouge and Blanc, Rose, and Crémant de Bourgogne. The estate's vineyards benefit from southeast-facing slopes and clay-limestone soils in the Pierres Dorées area. The Mercier family practices sustainable viticulture and vinifies all their wines on-site, selling one-third of their production in bottles through their tasting room.
