About the Winery

Marie-Christine Aguerre is a Bordeaux wine producer in the Fronsac region, on the Right Bank of the Dordogne River near Libourne. Fronsac and Canon-Fronsac are among the oldest wine-producing areas of Bordeaux, with a history dating back to Roman times. The region produces primarily Merlot-based red wines on limestone and clay-limestone soils, with a smaller proportion of Cabernet Franc. Fronsac wines are known for their power, depth, and elegance, often offering exceptional value compared to their more famous neighbors like Saint-Émilion and Pomerol. The hilly landscape of Fronsac, with its south-facing slopes, provides excellent exposure for the vineyards, contributing to the richness and concentration of the wines.
