Barré Frères
About the Winery
Barré Frères is a wine producer in Clisson, in the Loire Valley's Muscadet region. Clisson is a historic town known for its Italianate architecture and its wines from the Muscadet Sèvre et Maine appellation. The region is famous for producing crisp, mineral white wines from the Melon de Bourgogne grape variety. The soils of the area, consisting of granite, gneiss, and schist, give the wines their distinctive minerality and freshness. Muscadet wines are renowned for their ability to pair with seafood, particularly oysters and other shellfish from the Atlantic coast. The Barré family continues the tradition of Muscadet winemaking, crafting wines that express the unique terroir of the Sèvre and Maine river valleys.
