About the Winery

Chai du Rouissoir is a wine producer located in Saint-Médard, in the Charente department of southwestern France. The Charente region is traditionally known for Cognac production, but it also produces wines under the IGP Charentais appellation. The region's temperate oceanic climate and limestone soils create conditions suitable for growing Ugni Blanc, Colombard, and other grape varieties used for both still wines and distillation. The estate represents the rural winemaking tradition of the Charentes, where many small producers craft wines for local consumption alongside the world-famous Cognac industry.
