Catherine and Gérard Baron are wine producers in the Languedoc region of southern France. The Languedoc is France's largest wine-producing region, stretching along the Mediterranean coast and encompassing numerous appellations including Picpoul de Pinet, Minervois, Corbières, Saint-Chinian, and Faugères. The region has undergone a dramatic quality transformation in recent decades, with many producers shifting from bulk wine production to crafting high-quality, terroir-driven wines. The Barons work with classic Languedoc grape varieties such as Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Carignan for reds, and Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, and Marsanne for whites, producing wines that reflect the warmth and character of the Mediterranean climate.
