Scea château de Chavanes
About the Winery
Château de Chavanes is a wine estate located in Montigny-lès-Arsures, in the Jura region of eastern France. The estate is centered around a 17th-century château that was restored in 1996. The Jura is one of France's most distinctive wine regions, known for its unique wines including Vin Jaune (yellow wine), Vin de Paille (straw wine), and Macvin. The region's continental climate and marl soils create ideal conditions for producing these singular wines. Château de Chavanes produces wines that showcase the unique character of the Jura terroir, working with grape varieties such as Savagnin, Chardonnay, Poulsard, and Trousseau. The estate has been featured in the Guide Hachette des Vins for its quality wines.
