About the Winery

Bertrand Amart is a wine producer at Château Vénus in Preignac, in the Bordeaux region of France. Preignac is located in the Sauternes appellation area, famous for producing some of the world's greatest sweet white wines from botrytized Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. The region's unique microclimate, with morning mists from the Ciron River followed by warm afternoon sun, creates perfect conditions for noble rot (botrytis cinerea), which concentrates the sugars and flavors in the grapes. Château Vénus produces wines that reflect this exceptional terroir, crafting both sweet white wines in the style of Sauternes and other Bordeaux wines.
