About the Winery

SCEA Vignobles Ballarin is a family wine estate in the Bordeaux region with a rich multi-generational history. In 1932, Marcel Ballarin created the domaine from 5 hectares of white vines. His son Roger expanded it to 10 hectares, planted red vines, and launched bottle sales. His grandson Rémi, who joined in 2001, strongly developed exports (80%) and now manages a 30-hectare vineyard. The estate is known for producing Crémant de Bordeaux, with Maison Ballarin being the first winery to produce traditional-method sparkling wine in Bordeaux in 1947. The wines are produced in the Entre-Deux-Mers region from historic underground limestone cellars excavated in the 18th century, with blends including Sémillon, Muscadelle, and Cabernet Franc.
