Château Paloumey

50 Rue Pouge de Beau, 33290 Ludon-Médoc, France

About the Winery

Château Paloumey is a family estate classified as Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel of the Haut-Médoc appellation, located at the gates of Bordeaux. The estate has 34-40 hectares of vines spread over Haut-Médoc, Moulis-en-Médoc, and Margaux, all farmed organically since 2016 and energetically self-sufficient. The property was purchased by the Cazeneuve family in 1990 and is now run by Pierre Cazeneuve. The wines are elegant and airy with pure fruit. The vineyard is planted with 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Franc. The estate offers a range of experiences including vineyard walks, tastings, and gourmet food pairings. A second wine, Les Ailes de Paloumey, is also produced. In January 2020, the château was destroyed by fire but the cellars and vineyards were unharmed.

A Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel Haut-Médoc estate with 40 organic hectares across three appellations, run by Pierre Cazeneuve.
