About the Winery

Installed since 1991, Jean-Michel Moreau is one of the standard-bearers of the Tonnerre vineyard in Burgundy. This small 2.5-hectare domain is a fine example of the renewal of a vineyard that had almost disappeared at the beginning of the 20th century. The Tonnerre appellation, located in northern Burgundy near Chablis, produces white wines primarily from Chardonnay on Kimmeridgian soils similar to those of Chablis. Moreau's dedication to this almost-forgotten vineyard has helped revive interest in the Tonnerre terroir, producing wines with the same mineral character and freshness that make Chablis so distinctive.

A pioneer of the Tonnerre vineyard since 1991, reviving a nearly forgotten Burgundy appellation on 2.5 hectares.
