Begey et Fils
About the Winery
The Begey family are winegrowers proud of their roots in the Charentes region. Henri and Marguerite Begey tended their vines, transformed their harvest into elixirs with honey colors, and frequented fairs and salons to make known these Saintongeais miracles that are Pineau des Charentes and Cognac. Since the early 1960s, the couple took over 2 hectares of vines from their parents. More than forty years later, the operation has grown to 60 hectares. The Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Sémillon, and Montils grape varieties are in the Fins Bois AOC zone. Each year, two stills distill the harvest for nearly three months. The family welcomes visitors to the estate for tastings and purchases, and also organizes events and receptions.
“A family estate in Saint-Sorlin-de-Conac with 60 hectares in the Fins Bois zone, producing Pineau des Charentes and Cognac since the 1960s.”
