About the Winery

Charles Varin-Bernier, both winemaker and master cheesemaker, took over this estate in 2015. Founded in 1960, it was formerly the property of the famous gastronome Brillat-Savarin. The vineyard covers 18 hectares, certified organic, including 2 hectares dedicated to the Manicle cru. The estate is located in the Bugey region of Savoie, producing wines from Pinot Noir, Gamay, Mondeuse, and Chardonnay on clay-limestone soils rich in minerals. The domain also produces Bugey Brut sparkling wines. Charles's dual expertise as both winemaker and cheesemaker brings a unique gastronomic perspective to his wine production, creating wines perfectly suited to food pairing.
